ARTS-1/2 represents a complete recovery system for use in recovering broken-down aircraft up to the A380. It is comprised of three hydraulic platform units, which can be aligned arbitrarily depending on the application. In doing so, the units can also be applied individually. Experience in self-propelled technology lead to the development of the ARTS-1 recovery system. The ARTS-1 operates completely independently of tractor vehicles, as it is equipped with self-driven modules. An additional advantage is the computer-controlled multi-way steering system, which features normal drive, diagonal drive, transverse drive and carousel drive mode.
