Goldhofer’s ARCUS PK makes its international debut at IAA Commercial Vehicles 2018IAA 2018

Having set a new global benchmark for the transport industry at bauma 2016 with the premiere of the »ADDRIVE«, Goldhofer – the Memmingen-based world market leader for heavy haul and specialized transport vehicles – has set its sights correspondingly high for the upcoming IAA in Hanover. “For us it is the perfect opportunity to present our latest innovations to the who’s who of the global heavy haulage industry,” says Rainer Auerbacher, Member of the Board Transport Technology, and he continues: “At this year’s IAA Commercial Vehicles we will be unveiling a brand-new vehicle, namely the »ARCUS« PK.”

The new STZ-PK 8 low-loader semitrailer has been designed with a completely new steering system. Developed by Goldhofer, the system ensures optimum steering control in all situations. That prevents steering errors in forward and reverse motion and reduces tire wear to a minimum. The outstanding steering geometry takes the hassle out of narrow construction site entrances and offers considerable time savings.

Member of the Board Hubert Schaller explains: “With the »ARCUS« PK, we now have the first low-loader semitrailer with self-tracking pendular axles in series production. Thanks to the innovative steering system, the vehicle has excellent cornering characteristics and also has a new, unique and user-friendly control system in the form of »SmartControl«.” That greatly simplifies the operator's work, as the individual functions can now be operated at the touch of a button. The operator has a good overview of everything and is never in the danger zone when operating a ramp, for example.

The name »ARCUS« is a play on the two meanings of the term. It was the Latin word for a versatile bow used by Roman legionaries, which was highly accurate over any distance. Similarly, its highly dynamic performance and precision steering characteristics make the »ARCUS« PK an all-purpose tool for bridging distances long and short. The Romans also used the word “arcus” in the sense of a triumphal arch, which they often built to commemorate great achievements. And when it comes to deadweight and loading height, the »ARCUS« PK is definitely something of a triumph – so much so that the Goldhofer team has decided to enter it for the 2019 Trailer Innovation Award in the Chassis category.

In the outdoor area at the IAA, Goldhofer will also be presenting its new »ALLROUNDER«: the STN-L 3 low-loader semitrailer with self-tracking axles. The »ALLROUNDER« offers all the usual basic functions and as such is suitable for a wide range of transport tasks. With its low dead weight and full range of load securing options, it is a universal workhorse – a veritable all-rounder – designed with a focus on construction site operations. Equipped with wheel recesses and a one- or two-piece hydraulic ramp as required, the »ALLROUNDER« is a safe solution for transporting all kinds of construction plant. With its flexible loading options, the »ALLROUNDER« is the vehicle of choice for transporting high machines at low ride heights. As you would expect of a universal solution, the wheel recesses can be quickly transformed into a continuous platform for fast and easy loading of tracked vehicles and construction materials.

Rainer Auerbacher’s summary: “The Goldhofer trade show team is ideally equipped to offer visitors at IAA Commercial Vehicles 2018 a practical demonstration of the advantages of our new vehicles. We are confident that our innovative transport solutions will help them meet a wide range of challenges now and in the future.”

Goldhofer technology makes its mark at the 2016 IAAIAA 2016

At the 2016 IAA in Hanover, the elegant Goldhofer stand was the setting for one of this year’s highlights in terms of design, functionality and availability: an STZ-VP 6 (2+4) heavy-duty low bed combination system with six pendular axles.

For daily working, the STZ-VP 6 is a real all-rounder with a wide range of convincing features. That makes it the vehicle of choice for even the most challenging operations. The low bed trailer incorporating Goldhofer’s successful pendular axle system is highly maneuverable – thanks, among other things, to its compact design with an axle spacing of just 1,360 mm and extremely short overhangs. It also boasts a very low deadweight for fifth-wheel loads of up to 45 tons – and a good price-performance ratio.

Apart from the magnetic attraction of this impressive low bed trailer, the atmosphere at the Goldhofer stand was excellent all round and the scene of lively and inspiring discussions with customers and visitors.

Goldhofer CEO Stefan Fuchs was extremely pleased with the IAA week: “The large numbers of industry visitors to our stand alone made the event a convincing success for us. And we are particularly pleased that we were able to take advantage of the trade show to sign a number of contracts with new and existing customers. The Goldhofer team is definitely looking forward to the next IAA!”
