The star among the semitrailers in Finland

Premiere in Finland: With its new low loader semitrailer STZ-P 8 (2+6) AA with pendular axle technology, the German quality manufacturer Goldhofer is bringing to the Logistiikka-Kuljetus Trade Fair in Jyväskylä a new generation of semitrailers which are in a class of their own in terms of payload. For the first time ever, Goldhofer makes it possible to move loads weighing as much as 150 tons on a semitrailer. In the past that was only possible using heavy duty modules from the Goldhofer THP series.

“I am delighted that we are able to present our new STZ-P low loader semitrailer to the industry at Logistiikka-Kuljetus, all the more so as we see great potential for this new technology in Finland,” says Stefan Fuchs, CEO at Goldhofer Aktiengesellschaft.

The semitrailer on display, the STZ-P 8 (2+6) AA, is double telescopic for a deck length of between 13.5 meters and almost 29 meters. In spite of its extremely low deadweight, the exhibited model can handle payloads of over 97 t. That is thanks to Goldhofer’s innovative pendular axle technology in combination with an extremely torsion-resistant trailer frame. Another big attraction of the STZ-P series: It has the lowest loading height on the market. With the STZ-P concept, Goldhofer achieves the lowest loading height for semitrailers with ball-bearing race ring technology and pendular axles.

Thanks to the new pendular axle technology, the STZ-P 8 (2+6) AA, with an axle stroke of up to 600 mm and a steering angle of up to 65°, is ideal for operations on construction sites and in other locations involving very tight radii. The pendular axles on the new Goldhofer semitrailer offer outstanding tracking performance and stability and an outstanding response to uneven terrain.

Among other things, the gooseneck on the STZ-P 8 is fitted with a Goldhofer differential circuit for a wide range of fifth-wheel and axle loads. The steering system permits counter-steering  on the front bogie for optimum cornering and minimum tire wear. The axles of the front bogie can be raised as required with the help of the double-action axle suspension cylinder.
