Wind power: Balmer is the first to use Super Lift, Goldhofer’s new 4-fold telescopic flatbed semitrailer

“The Movement Specialists” is another name for Balmer Spedition und LKW-Service GmbH, which was established in 1988 and is headquartered in Holthusen near Schwerin. This specialist in heavy load and oversized cargo transportation is now the proud owner of an innovative vehicle that makes the company a specialist for wind turbine shipments, too: Balmer is the first road haulage company worldwide to deploy Super Lift, Goldhofer’s brand-new 4-fold telescopic flatbed semitrailer. At its maximum extended length of about 58 m, Super Lift can be used to transport rotor blades with a length of 65 meters and more. Super Lift also has an impressive suspension stroke in both the gooseneck and the bogie so that obstacles en route are negotiated quickly and easily.

“With Super Lift, Goldhofer has come up with the perfect response to the requirements of our business. I’m glad we waited before making our investment as we are now the first to be able to take advantage of an innovative solution engineered to the Goldhofer quality standard,” says Managing Director Eckart Balmer.

For Eckart Balmer and his team, the decision to again choose Goldhofer to supply a flatbed semitrailer to transport rotor blades of the new XXL generation was not a difficult one. In praise of his supplier, Balmer says, “I took a look at what was on the market and compared the various offerings. And I soon realized that the other brands simply can’t compare with Goldhofer. That’s something you see from the many intelligent vehicle details and also when you call on the various companies. In all areas, Goldhofer is head and shoulders above the rest.”

Following a successful first operation with Super Lift, the Balmer company has now placed a follow-up order for two more vehicles of the same type. That is confirmation of the outstanding performance available with this innovative solution.
