Whatever the size, weight or destination: heavy-duty semitrailers from Goldhofer

Goldhofer presents its flexible payload champion STZ-VP 8

At this year’s SOLUTRANS 2019 (Lyon/F) Goldhofer will be presenting a vehicle specially designed for extreme heavy road transport under the most demanding conditions: the STZ-VP 8 with 285 tires. The robust high-performance low- loader trailer offers the flexibility to handle a wide variety of cargos and routes. With a maximum axle load of 16 tons, it offers exceptional carrying capacity for high loads and working machines plus advantages in all operating situations, from loading and unloading to negotiating bridges, tunnels and tight bends. The benefits include an extremely strong and flexible crawler deck and a rear bogie with a deep continuous excavator boom recess. In addition, fast coupling and uncoupling of the front bogie means extremely short setup times.

At the Goldhofer Solutrans stand (T 215 in hall 5), visitors will be able to inspect Goldhofer’s impressive low-loader semitrailer for max. payload of approx 120 tons. The muscular STZ-VP 8 is designed to handle the highest possible payloads on the crawler deck, which can be extended with drop-in sections for the drop deck. Together with the optional use of the front bogie, that guarantees the flexibility needed to cope with an extremely wide range of cargos, construction machines such as industrial loads. The result is a vehicle that is ideal for transporting ultra-heavy loads over long distances without having to make long detours. “For our customers, the STZ-VP 8 is a universal solution. It is ideally suited for all transport operations, especially when it comes to transporting heavy machinery – like a 90-ton hydraulic drilling rig to be moved on rough construction site terrain or cranes in the same weight class or heavy crushers to be transported over long distances. The modular concept of our all-rounder also permits the choice between five- or eight-axle configuration, so that individual job specifications can be met more quickly,” explains Romuald Espinasse, Sales Manager France at Goldhofer.

The Goldhofer STZ-VP series
The Goldhofer drop-deck semitrailers in the STZ-VP series are the vehicles of choice where challenging cargos need to be delivered quickly and safely on routes with varying terrain and narrow passages. Thanks to the high axle load, large steering angle and longer deck area, they are ideal for heavy and ultra-heavy haulage of boilers, excavators and other outsize loads. In combination with an extensive range of accessories, this semitrailer series, which can be configured individually to handle almost any cargo, is a cost-effective, maneuverable, high-performance solution for even the heaviest loads.

Tried and tested in the challenging world of heavy haulage and on show at Solutrans: the Goldhofer STZ-VP 8 lowloader trailer

Goldhofer's digital vehicle concept makes its debut at SolutransApril 2017

This year, from November 21 to 25, the Who's Who of the road transport industry will be meeting for the 14th time at the Solutrans trade show in Lyon. The fact that this biennial event has more than national relevance is clear from the statistics: In 2015 just under one quarter out of a total of more than 900 exhibitors and about ten percent of the over 36,000 visitors came from abroad.

This year the Goldhofer Group will be unveiling its successful MPA 4 concept in a variant with integrated CAN bus control. This in-house development has already done several years of successful service in the vehicle portfolio at Goldhofer Airport Technology and is now being made available to simplify vehicle handling with a digital control system in the company's heavy haulage segment, too. The CAN bus technology offers extremely convenient vehicle operation via keypad or radio remote control. The simple pictograms on the control pad give users a clear overview and simple operation of the various functions. Rainer Auerbacher, Genaral Manager Transport Technology at Goldhofer, explains: "With the CAN bus we are offering customers fast and even simpler control over our vehicles than ever before. The system additionally has technological potential for the future for an even stronger focus on industrial safety in vehicle design."

The multifunctional MPA 4 low loader semi trailer is ideally suited for presenting Goldhofer's CAN bus system to the industry. With the patented MPA axle technology and an axle load of 12,000 kg plus a deck height of just 780 mm (block height), the MPA 4 makes light work of long, high and heavy loads. "The MPA 4 is a real allrounder," says Area Sales Manager Said Chehma, who will be looking after customers and interested parties at Solutrans. "It can also be extended by a further 5.70 m where required. So this vehicle in the CAN bus version is ideally suited to demonstrating our digital control system to an international audience. We are looking forward to four exciting days with long-standing partners and hopefully lots of visitors to our stand."
